It has been a massive year for sella and with Christmas just round the corner it’s time to share a few of our many growth highlights from January 2009 to December 2009.

• Listings increased from 40,000 to over 160,000 – an increase of 300%
• Users coming to the site have increased from 35,000 a week to over 120,000 – an increase of over 240%
• Members have increased from 20,000 to 125,000 and growing at over 2,000 a week – an increase of over 500%
• We are now selling thousands of individual items each week.
• Bids have increased to tens of thousands each week.
• The dollar value sold has grown from nothing in January to hundreds of thousands each week.
• sella.co.nz was named by Google as one of the top 10 fastest rising search terms this year.
• Over $750,000 was raised on sella for the KidsCan Big Night In Telethon and this weeks Air New Zealand Kids at Christmas charity auction.

This morning we hit another milestone.  We now have over 100,000 listings!

There were some good comments on our last Traffic post with ways we could advertise the site. Well today we’ve gone ahead and put a full page ad in The New Zealand Herald.

After Telethon and our last Growth, Growth and more Growth!! post sella is really kicking into top gear. We finished August with 359,000 unique users making us the 19th most popular site in New Zealand according to Nielsen Online – the first time we’ve cracked the top 20!

We’ve got over 100,000 members on sella now and most exciting for us is how you’re all really engaging with the site. Pageviews doubled in August to almost 6 million and the number of bids and items sold are up 300%.

Following on from the telethon sella.co.nz has been growing like crazy.  Traffic has grown 50% week on week to over 105,000 users each week.  We are on track to have 350,000 users this month!  up from 260,000 in July.

Total listings on the site crept over 90,000 this morning which is huge – getting closer to the magical 100,000 mark.

The best part is that our number of bids and items sold are well over 300% growth over our previous weeks which is fantastic.  This is not just growth that happened for 1 weekend, its the sustained growth that has occured the days after telethon.

We have only been going for 9 months, but it looks like everyone is liking what they see.
