So a big welcome to all our new members from zillion – you are now part of a community of over 250,000 like minded people [...]]]> This morning at 4am we kicked off the merger of Zillion members and listings into Sella.co.nz. When you are trying to transfer this much data there is bound to be a few things that can go wrong – but I’m pleased to say that apart from a couple of minor errors everything went smoothly.

So a big welcome to all our new members from zillion – you are now part of a community of over 250,000 like minded people who like to buy and sell commission free. Sella is having over 2,500 members a week join us and this is increasing every week.

A massive thanks to all the guys in Sella HQ who worked tirelessly over the last few weeks to get to this day & a huge thank you to Mikey who led the data merge, there was so much information in his head we thought it might explode! A big thanks to Dylan & Shane from zillion.co.nz who worked with us as well to make it go as smoothly as it has.

Personally, even though the last 4 months have seen our growth really take off, I’m looking super forward to the next 12 months as I feel its just started. There is nothing better than seeing record growth of bids, sales & other activity occurring every week.

During the next 6 months we will be releasing a large number of features to sella.co.nz which we hope you will all like and use – they are all built with one thing in mind – making it easier for our members to buy and sell stuff.

This aquisition is another step in the right direction for us and we look forward to the next 3 to 6 months.

• Fullers Great Sights Bay of Islands Weekly $1 Reserve auction
• TV3 & Kidscan – the 2009 Telethon

When you combine both Sella and Zillion you have some rather impressive stats – these are:

• 470,000 users per month
• 250,000 members – growing at over 3,000 per week
• 230,000 listings

This is a massive marketplace and best of all, sella.co.nz does not charge commissions or listing fees so you can now sell your products, on a larger site and keep more of the money in your own pocket! Sella only charges for featured items i.e. a Bold listing or a highlighted background.

The aim of combining the 2 sites is to create an even larger competitor to TradeMe and we are very confident that together we will continue to grow and achieve this.

Over the last couple of weeks we have spoken with a large number of Zillion members to discuss with them how best to integrate Zillion with Sella – to make sure we kept the best features of Zillion.

We know from our discussions with some of you that you have been disappointed with Zillions lack of growth over the last 18 months – but that is about to change now it is part of Sella.

What a good start to the week! Be sure to take a peek at the latest listings and get in first or look at the listings about to close and you might pick up a bargain.

We finished August with 359,000 unique users making us the 19th most popular site in New Zealand according to Nielsen Online – the first time we’ve cracked the top 20!

We’ve got over 100,000 members on sella now and most exciting for us is how you’re all really engaging with the site. Pageviews doubled in August to almost 6 million and the number of bids and items sold are up 300%.

The best part is that our number of bids and items sold are well over 300% growth over our previous weeks which [...]]]> Following on from the telethon sella.co.nz has been growing like crazy.  Traffic has grown 50% week on week to over 105,000 users each week.  We are on track to have 350,000 users this month!  up from 260,000 in July.

Total listings on the site crept over 90,000 this morning which is huge – getting closer to the magical 100,000 mark.

The best part is that our number of bids and items sold are well over 300% growth over our previous weeks which is fantastic.  This is not just growth that happened for 1 weekend, its the sustained growth that has occured the days after telethon.

We have only been going for 9 months, but it looks like everyone is liking what they see.
